The Power of Trinity in Sleep


In our lives, sleep plays a significant role. After a good night’s sleep, we feel refreshed and ready to take on the world. Millions of people throughout the world battle some form of sleep disorder every day when they go to bed. However, this need not be the case if we learn the proper philosophy of sleep, which will impact our longevity and quality of life. After all, how well we sleep affects our overall health and happiness.

How did this philosophy come to be?

I have learned through my years of study of Chinese metaphysics the relationship between the mind and body when it comes to the movement of energy known as Qi or life force. The process known as the trinity – heaven (BaZi), earth (Fengshui), and man (luck pillars) – allows man to activate this life force that exists in the universe. Man is a conscious being who possesses the power of thoughts that flow from the mind, the center of Qi, according to the trinity and power concept.

Qi also follows the path of the mind.

Man needs to control his mind to allow Qi to flow easily and smoothly, especially when the body is at rest, in order to activate the power of the trinity. Only when the mind is calm and stress-free can sleep occur. The mind uses this to enter a state of sleep in mysterious ways. One finds it harder to fall asleep the more one tries to do so consciously. This causes a condition called stressed-induced anxiety, which makes it very difficult to go to sleep.

Through the trinity of physical, mental, and qi channeling relaxation, the mind and body must be brought into harmony in order to fall asleep. This involves a process known as the power of three as follows:-

1) Know that trying harder to sleep is not helpful at all

2) Get into a comfortable position in bed

3) Clear your mind of any unwanted thoughts

Power of 1) is to understand that sleep is a phenomenon that cannot be controlled consciously because the mind is constantly on edge when you are having trouble falling asleep. Therefore, you must learn to let sleep come to you naturally. Accept and be at peace with this reality.

Using the power of two, find a comfortable bed position that your body is used to. In this position, you will feel like water. This is due to the fact that water alters its path based on the type of ground it flows over. And the flow of Qi will be appropriate.

Your mind is a playground for thoughts (power of 3). Either you can stop thinking about things or you can skip over your thoughts. Try to empty your mind of all thoughts by refusing to let any worries enter. If you are unable to do so, at least skim your thoughts as they come to you. This means that your thoughts will simply float across the surface of your mind, much like rainwater does when it falls on a roof. Retention is not present.

By developing the three aforementioned habits over time, you can harness the power of your body and mind. Consistently practice it until it becomes ingrained in your sleep routine. Sleep will come naturally as part of the power of trinity as you gain more and more experience with this process.

Along with feeding the mind, it’s important to eat nutritious foods for a healthy body. Melatonin is produced less frequently as we age. Eating healthy foods as part of your daily meals can increase the sleep hormone. Fruits, seeds, nuts, oats, and milk are just a few of the foods available on the market that promote sound sleep. My personal favorites are muesli cereals, which come in a variety of flavors and contain ingredients like blueberries, cranberries, roasted almonds, cashew nuts, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, rolled oats, and wheat. When milk is added, these enhance the tasty flavors of whole grain cereals. Choose soymilk if you have a lactose intolerance. It can be a part of a wholesome breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You can also add magnesium, one of the minerals with the strongest muscle-relaxing effects, to your diet before bed. Take it in the form of 350–500 mg capsules two hours prior to going to bed.
